Determining if Endothelial Cell Co-Culture will support Ovarian Tissue Survival and Follicle Development in the Domestic Dog

The Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute is one of the many research outposts owned by the Smithsonian Institution which aims to conserve endangered wildlife through research and field work in ecology, reproduction, genetics, etc. A wide variety of programs exist to biologists, post-doctorate fellows, and interns to directly achieve these goals.

From June 1st-August 18th I had the outstanding opportunity to participate as an intern on a research project conducted by Dr. Jennifer Nagashima Ph.D involving optimizing an ovarian tissue culture technique in the domestic dog.
